Position Overview: Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester

Halfords Autocentres in Montrose is seeking a qualified and experienced Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester to join their team. This is a hands-on role for a skilled mechanic who takes pride in delivering excellent customer service and ensuring vehicle safety. You will conduct MOT tests to DVSA standards and carry out a wide range of maintenance and repair work, from routine servicing to advanced diagnostics. Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be entrusted with the following core duties:

• MOT Testing: Conduct official MOT tests in accordance with strict DVSA standards and regulations.
• Vehicle Maintenance & Repair: Perform a comprehensive range of mechanical work, including services, repairs, and advanced diagnostic fault-finding.
• Quality & Safety: Ensure all work is completed to the highest technical and safety standards, keeping customers’ vehicles roadworthy.
• Customer Service: Contribute to a positive customer experience by providing clear explanations of work required and delivering reliable, high-quality repairs.
• Team Collaboration: Work effectively as part of the Autocentre team to manage workflow and meet customer commitments.

Candidate Requirements (Mandatory)

Technical Qualification	Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent proven experience).
Licensing	Must hold a valid, current MOT Testing Licence.
Driving Licence	Full UK driving licence with no more than 9 penalty points.

Remuneration & Benefits

• Base Salary: £31,827 – £35,000 per annum.
